A walk from Soreze

Monday 14th August

We did wander down to the town last night and watched the young kids

and older kids on the bumper cars,

parents buying huge candy flosses for their children

and a few people dancing to the disco.

Today, only mad dogs and English people would do what we did - walk over 7 miles in blazing sunshine!  It was a really lovely walk from the town, up into the hills to a point where we could look down on Lac de St. Ferreol (my camera hiccupped at this point so no photo) and then back by another path.

We liked this house in the country

Fast-flowing stream

Super tree house in the woods

View back to Soreze

There's been a very strong wind blowing all day today (still blowing at 10pm) so it wasn't as uncomfortable in the sun as it sounds.  But we were very ready for the cold drink and rest when we reached the little cafe back in Soreze. Our Rockie friends will smile when we say that 'You're the Voice' was being played as we sat down outside the cafe - we joined in, of course!
