Another scenic drive this morning with some super views of the Tarn Bridge as we left Millau.

The sun got hotter and hotter, arriving at le Grau du Roi as planned at lunch time. We are staying with our good friends Tessa and Keith here for a few days - even they who spend every summer down here are feeling the heat! For us the eating and drinking always score very highly when we are here, but particularly today - so does the beautiful pool! Even the water in the pool was showing 32 deg!

So we spent a lovely afternoon catching up our news between frequent dips. Later clouds loomed up and we had a burst of rain but that cleared enough for us to eat on the terrace before a walk to the beach in the slightly-cooler evening. By bedtime, the thunder was really rolling and aparently there was quite a storm in the night ....
Sunday 6th August
.... but that cleared the air beautifully, so we woke to a much fresher sunny morning. Tessa and Keith have an electronic weather station that records the temperature outside in the porch and inside in the lounge in the shade. On the little screen between all the numbers, is a little chap (they call him Archie) whose clothes change according to the weather. Yesterday, he was in his swimming trunks all day but this morning he was in his long trousers and T shirt! It's now middle of the afternoon and he's back in his trunks and sunhat!
We had a very successful shopping morning at the nearby Maison Mediterrannee, topping up our wine cellar and then lunch at one of our friends' favourite restaurants 'Longo Mai' on Port Camargue, a short walk away from their home.

We are now into our chilling out period of the day, so we need to go and get into that pool again ....
