Camping St. Martin , Soreze

Sunday 13th August

We did explore Soreze this morning, but just to visit the boulangerie, have a wander and spent about 15 minutes in the church where a baptism service was going on.  It was lovely to observe, especially the bit when the father carried the baby along every pew for all the family and friends to sign a cross or place a hand on the baby's head.

It's been rather a hot day so we didn't make it back to the town to see the Abbey School and the Glass Museum - just did some jigsaw and swam in the pool.  (Actually just me swimming in the pool - John just put a toe in and that was enough.  The water was 10 deg. cooler than in Tessa and Keith's pool last week!!)

This is a long weekend holiday in France and towns and villages are putting on various entertainments.  Here, there is music every night from 10pm - 2am!!  We went to sleep by it last night as it was quite pleasant.  In a while we are going to wander down to the main street and see what is going on tonight.
