Our last breakfast on the terrace was croissants, a special farewell treat - usually saved for Sundays! So after a bit of blogging of the last 2 days and filling in the visitors book, we made our goodbyes to Tessa and Keith. Thank you both, so very much for making us so welcome. This was our third visit to 134 .... we are already looking forward to our fourth!
Our journey today brought us to Villeneuve-les-Beziers, just south of Beziers, beside the Canal du Midi. The campsite is a little tired, but that's probably to be expected with lots of sunshine and people passing through. We settled on a spacious pitch on dried grass (much nicer than where most motorhomes were - on stones and with far less space) where we chilled out until after dinner. Then we walked beside the canal looking at the moored up boats - all different shapes and sizes - and wandered a bit in the small town of Villeneuve.

We thought it was rather a novel Tourist Information office.

Wednesday 9th August
The night was so much cooler - we didn't even need the fan - but the sun was shining brightly when we set off on our bikes to explore the canal, going east towards the sea.

Some of the path is lined with big shady trees and some ran beside rows of vines.

It was quite hard to find a shady spot to eat our picnic, but we found a little wall to sit on, by a tiny tree behind the sand dunes. A very beautiful beach for a paddle, but oh boy, was the sand hot!

Some clouds came over after our return and it has rained a little bit. That actually made it feel a little bit chilly and we ate our dinner indoors - that's a first for a very long time!
